A look back at VVS Laxman's series-winning record as coach or mentor -- from Ireland to Zimbabwe to a Gold medal at the Asian Games -- and why he rarely got the credit for it.

VVS Laxman's résumé as a behind-the-scenes figure in Indian cricket is longer than many realise. A 2-0 series win in Ireland's T20Is. A 3-0 sweep of Zimbabwe in ODIs. Gold at the 2023 Asian Games. A T20I series win over South Africa. Two more series wins over Zimbabwe in T20Is, 4-1 and 3-0.
That is a genuinely impressive body of work, compiled largely away from the spotlight. Laxman has built a reputation as the silent hero of Indian cricket -- someone who has never begged for credit, even as the results kept coming.
