But there are many aspects where we have seen when a batsman has given his entire innings to preserve the team’s honor. which makes them selfless cricketers, and they also proved why cricket is known as the “gentleman’s game.”
Today, this article will discuss those five innings that demonstrated selflessness and demonstrated that, in the end, it’s a matter of the team.
1. Hashim Amla
The South African batsman Hashim Amla is one of the best cricketers of modern-day cricket. He was the backbone of South African cricket for a long time, and his batting stats also speak the truth about his importance to his country.
In his 124-match test career, he scored more than 9000 runs, but one of his most important and selfless innings came in 2015 when South Africa visited India for 5 test matches. In the 4th match of Delhi’s spinning track, when South Africa needed to draw the match, Hashim Amla showcased his defensive batting, where he scored only 25 runs in 244 balls.

One of Ganguly’s selfless innings came when India was chasing a huge 326 in the NatWest Series Final against England at Lord’s on July 13, 2002. Ganguly and Sehwag started the innings with fiery batting, and they did a 106-run partnership in just 14.3 overs before Sourav lost his wicket on 60 runs in just 43 balls. His innings have 10 boundaries and one overboundary. His quick knock helped India win the final match on England’s soil.
